There are various diving equipments that can assure you a safe and comfortable diving experience. These diving equipments are both essential and useful i n every diving situation.

Diving is mainly submerging underwater for fishing coral or pearl, repairing underwater boats, ship parts or getting back valuables from immersed ships. The importance of deep sea diving should go hand in hand with the need for a complete variety of breathing apparatus.

There are several important equipments for a safe, comfortable and convenient diving. Here is a list of needed diving equipments:

• Diving Cylinders
• Reels and Buoys
• Diver's Fins
• Dive Computers
• Dry Suit or Wet Suit
• Depth Gauge
• Diving Mask
• Torch or Flash light
• Diving Knife
• BCD's
• Hose and Hose Protector
• Snorkel

Diving regulators are essential diving gear items for comfort. They provide support for inhaling air that comes from the oxygen of the tank. They should have a high unfailing performance, especially with a thermal insulating system that is accessible to tank pressures.

The Cylinders which contain nitrox should possess an adjustable strap connection for fitting the main bottle. They need to secure the direction of the jacket for safer diving. When choosing the right kind of cylinder, look for a complete package that possesses a stage band clip, nitrox sack, carrying handle, along with a tank banger and a cylinder valve face, having a ring of matched sizes.

Reels and buoys increase the divers whilst in the water. They serve as a divers reel for towing and for marker surfaces, which are suitable for emergencies occurring under water.

Scuba diver's fins act as flippers, allowing them to propel efficiently during inner water.

Dive Computers are computerized gadgets that extend the safety of the diver and increase their time underwater.

A BCD is a back pack that is an extremely resistant polymer jacket that allows greater freedom movement.

Each diver should have a Thermal and Sting protection like Dry Suit or Wet Suit, especially suitable for diving in cold water.

For thermal insulation, diving gloves made of neoprene is often necessary as well as diving boots that should also be made out of neoprene and rubber, for defense underwater.

The Depth Gauge with watch is used for monitoring decompressions and table's for underwater navigation.

If you are going to find back your starting point and experiencing poor visibility while under the sea, the Distance Line Gadget is all you need for your survival.

For eye guard, the dive mask and protection mask allows the diver a clearer sight while exploring the deepest part of the water. The full face mask is sometimes the best choice since it allows conversation, even if you have no mouthpiece. The ability for communication is even common security for underwater night diving and handling torch.

A flashlight is an appropriate tool for viewing wrecks, caves, and an aid to communication.

The tools needed for navigation under sea also include

• Diving knife
• Airlift devices,
• Waterproof cameras,
• Diving shots,
• Dry boxes,
• Lifting bags,
• High pressure whistles,
• Orange water dyes
• Mirrors.

The diving knife should have a serrate edge for easy cutting lines or blunt tip surfaces. It is used for personal protection against sea predators. The Airlift device is also mostly powered by gas and used in vacuuming small objects from sea beds.

Water proof cameras are necessary for photos and video environment coverage under the sea. The hose also plays an important function, acting as a breathing apparatus. Hence, a protection hose ensures less damage.

The Snorkel generally suits scuba diving buffs, allowing the section of the mouthpiece to drop away from the mouth without obstructing the regulator.

I did a lecture on Altitude Diving last night and it made me thing about putting a "Tip Sheet" together. Following is a list of tips to remember when Altitude Diving.

1. Any dive between 1000 feet and 10,000 feet is an Altitude Dive

2. There is relatively little test data for altitude diving, flying after diving or driving to altitude after diving.

3. At sea level, the diver is surrounded by one atmosphere of pressure. At 10,000 feet, the pressure is .714 atmospheres (a 30% decrease in pressure). This is the same pressure change as 10 feet of seawater, which we know makes a big difference in our no-decompression limits. As we'll see, this must be accounted for when using the RDP or any other dive table or dive computer.

4. Besides decompression sickness, there are heightened concerns for Hypoxia and Hypothermia when divng at Altitude.

5. Unless the actual depth is converted to a theoretical depth for table use and special procedures are followed, at altitude the pressure ratio can exceed the maximum limit intended by the table or dive computer, increasing the possibility of decompression sickness.

6. There are several equipment considerations when diving at altitude: (1) Air, trapped inside the cells of a wetsuit, expands at altitude, possibly making you more buoyant. Do a buoyancy check. (2) Different Gauges act differently at altitude, check with your gauge manufacturer and know what kind of gauge you have and how altitude effects it. (3) Computers either automatically adjust for altitude, need to be manually adjusted for altitude or have no adjustment for altitude. Know your computer!

7. When using an RDP or Table to plan your dive, consult the Theoretical Depth Conversion chart first and plan your dive using your theoretical depth, not your actual depth. Adjust your safety stop accordingly.

8. Ascend from depth on an altitude dive at a rate not to exceed 30 feet per minute. Safety stops are mandatory on all dives.

9. Make no more than two dives per day when diving altitude.

10. When arriving at altitude, wait 6 hours for your body to acclimitize or adjust your dive profiles to account for the residual nitrogen in your system as a result of the increase in altitude. When diving above 8000 feet, always wait 6 hours.

11. When using charts and tables, always round conservatively - whether it be up or down.

12. Consult your certification agency or Divers Alert Network for recommendations on altitude or flying after diving. It is generally recommended not to increase your altitude more than 2000 feet for a period of 24 hours after diving.

13. Do not make repetitive dives at different altitudes. Always wait a minimum of 6 hours when diving between altitudes.

14. If you are diving at altitude, seek proper training and get certified. Tip sheets and articles found on the Internet are no substitute for training. Dive within your training limits.

Having just taken up diving I have come to realise just how convenient it is to own your scuba diving equipment. While most dive centres do have basic scuba diving equipment that you can rent, you are never assured of quality, the correct sizes or cleanliness.

 

It is true that scuba diving equipment is a considerable investment not only because of the cost but also because you need to make sure that the diving equipment is of the highest quality and standard.  Not everyone can afford to buy all the scuba diving equipment at once, so here is a list of the basics that you might want to invest in.

 

Dry Suits:

To ensure that you stay protected from hypothermia and the elements while diving it is essential that you invest in a good dry suit. The suit should fit you well and be snug enough to keep you warm but should not be too tight. It is important that you find a dry suit that fits you correctly, because a suit that is too large can increase your chances of hypothermia, whereas a suit that is too tight will be restrictive and painful to wear.

 

Regulators:

One very important piece of scuba diving equipment is the regulator set. The regulator set consists of the first stage, second stage (both primary and alternate), hoses and sometimes the dive consoles. You can choose to buy these separately or as a set. If you are unable to invest in the whole set at one time then it might be better to purchase the primary second stage first. Having your own primary second stage regulator is beneficial since you know do not have to worry about hygiene or quality. When renting you are never really certain about how hygienic the regulators are since many other people have used them.

 

Dive Computers:

Another important piece of scuba diving equipment is the dive computer. Whether you invest in a basic dive computer or one that is state of the art, having your own dive computer is essential. Dive computers are handy at telling you the depth at which you are at, calculating ascent time, dive time, and many more functions. To be an independent diver it is essential that you have a dive computer.

 

These are just three essential pieces of scuba diving equipment that you can invest in first to ensure that you have comfortable and safe dives. Whether you start with just purchasing one item or all the scuba diving equipment at once it is well worth having your own.

There are a number of important facts about scuba diving that you need to know. The first one is that you need to have a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus. These high pressure tanks that are strapped to the back of the diver, provide air to the diver that is regulated through a breathing device. This lets the diver go very deep in the water without worrying about coming up for oxygen.

Next of the facts about scuba diving is that you need specific diving apparel to protect your body and allow you to swim easily. Such apparel includes wetsuits, gloves, hoods, computer watch, etc. The next fact about scuba diving is that nearly anyone can be certified for scuba diving. More than one million people get certified for scuba diving each year. As long as you can put on a heavy tank filled with compressed and dive down deep, you can become certified. The thing that scares most people away from scuba diving is that breathing through the rubber tube connected to the air tank is the only way to stay alive that deep in the water. People have a fear that something will go wrong, but it is rare that something does.

The next of the facts about scuba diving is that the diver must make a decision on what type of underwater adventure would be preferred. You could dive in warm or cold water, or explore locations of shipwrecks. If you are on a cruise or in other specific instances, you may not have to get certified before going scuba diving. In cruises to the Caribbean, Acapulco, and the Florida Keys, you can get a one day crash course on scuba diving before you go exploring.

If you want to become a serious diver, you will need to know the mental and physical facts about scuba diving before pursuing the sport. Physically, you will need to look at your swimming, breathing, and equalizing abilities. You need to be able to swim well, not only for exploring, but also in case of an emergency where you need to be rescued.

Breathing-wise, you need to be able to breath solely through your mouth. This is one of the most important facts about scuba diving, because otherwise you won't be able to stay under water. When it comes to equalizing, you need to know how to "pop" your ears. When you go deep in the water, there is a lot of pressure that builds up in the ears, and so you must "pop" your ears in order to equalize the pressure. To do this correctly, you will need to consult your scuba instructor or a doctor.

The last of the facts about scuba diving is knowing whether you have any physical conditions that might limit your ability to scuba dive. Such conditions include being overweight, fatigued, having diabetes, heart conditions, or any other ailments, and prone to drowning. It is always a good idea to get a physical done by a doctor before scuba diving.

Spear Guns and Diving Watches

A spear gun is a gun designed to fire a spear, usually underwater to catch fish and you can also use this for the sport of underwater spear fishing. When you are diving you will either need snorkeling or scuba gear and some training before you get started. If you want to fish in deep water where the water is murky, you would like to use this kind of fishing equipment to catch fish that are very close to you. Spears are used in the olden days to catch fishes, in today's fishing industry, spear guns are used. Slings are added to the usual spears. It is just like an underwater bow and arrow. In its place of using the conventional fishing hook and lure, a spear gun is a great cohort when fishing and it can catch large fishes like tuna and blackfish. They are also great for close range fishing. It produces mechanism that holds a spear in place along the barrel. The guide includes for a suitable shaft length according to your level of knowledge and experience in handling it. For long range fishing, go for a longer shaft, and a shorter shaft to allow for maneuverability. It also provides a muzzle and breach assembly which can be loaded from the side of the gun rather than front. A clearance slot is provided in the muzzle which is vaguely wider than the spear shaft diameter. The clearance slot includes an interference slot portion which is slightly narrower than the shaft diameter. Once the spear shaft is placed into the clearance slot and pushed past the interference slot, it is positively retained in the muzzle (under the normal forces presented when using the gun). It has two methods in using this. The first method of use involves tethering the spear shaft to prevent shaft loss and the second method of operating this equipment involves an untethered (or free) spear shaft. When it's operated in this manner, the range is only limited by the power and accuracy of its propulsion mechanism.

Diving watch are particular kind of sports watch that features a water resistance greater than 10 atmospheric units or the equivalent of the watch being submersed in water to the depth of 100 meters (or 330 ft) and have much greater water resistance and are often capable of surviving to a depth of 200-300 meters or (660-990 feet). Watches that conform to (International Organization for Standardization) or ISO 6425 are marked with the word "DIVERS" to distinguish the watch as an appropriate for scuba diving and you are assured of a minimum level of safety and quality when diving or swimming in sea water. A diving watch is a wrist apparatus that has a unidirectional bezel that provides divers with an alternative basis of elapsed time for the current dive.
